Using Music as a Tool for Social Inclusion


We here at the Academy believe that music is a powerful tool for initiating social change. We endeavour to achieve this by providing access to music education to those who as a result of inadequate income and resources, may be marginalised from participating in such activities which are considered the norm for other people in society.

In 2009, the Social Inclusion Unit of Cork City Council published an in depth report on the various community music projects in Cork city titled “The Use of Music as a Tool for Social Inclusion”.
